Celebrated Pinot Noir Producer Creates a New Home to Showcase Wines of Tony Rynders

Woodinville, Washington, May 30, 2018 — On Saturday, June 2nd, Panther Creek Cellars, one of Oregon’s iconic wineries, will open a new tasting room in the Hollywood District of Washington State’s Woodinville wine region. Recognized for both its exceptional regional blends and single vineyard designates, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay in particular, Panther Creek will offer visitors an extensive selection of current releases and library wines. A relaxed and modern setting at 14455 Woodinville-Redmond Rd in Woodinville, Panther Creek’s new tasting room integrates reclaimed and local materials and Pacific Northwest design, echoing the brand’s focus on the importance of place.

Founded in 1986 by legendary winemaker Ken Wright, Panther’s winemaker today, Tony Rynders, continues to craft distinctive and age-worthy wines, which will be available in the new Washington home. An extensive library of wines dating back 30 years, illustrating the skills of the winemaker, the quality of the fruit and the complexity of the terroir will be available and provide insight as to how the wines today will evolve.

“I grew up in a winery and trained as a sommelier,” remarks Madelaine Morford, Panther Creek Tasting Room Director and Assistant General Manager. “The pleasures, passions and education of wine are in my blood. I’ve always been a fan of the delicate yet complex Burgundian style of Oregon Pinot Noir. This is the perfect opportunity for me to share my love of wine and hospitality.”

“For 30 years, Panther Creek Cellars has been shining a light on unique plots of land in the Willamette Valley, and telling the story of place,” noted Winemaker Tony Rynders. “I imagine our philosophy and style will be very much appreciated in Washington, a region so passionate about food, wine, and the truly great qualities that can be found in the Pacific Northwest.”

“Upon opening, we’ll offer daily samplings of our wines, alongside the opportunity to experience our exclusive Reserve flight,” commented Morford. “On an ongoing basis, we’ll feature horizontal and vertical flights, offering guests the chance to explore one wine over multiple vintages or one vintage across multiple vineyards. We’re unique in being able to offer this and we look forward to creating a neighborhood wine destination. We are looking forward to the release of our 2016 single vineyard Pinot Noirs early this fall here in the new tasting room.”

“Only a small handful of Oregon wineries have tasting rooms here in Washington,” commented Michael Meluskey, Panther Creek’s COO. “We couldn’t pass up the chance to have a place we could call our own in the Hollywood district. Panther Creek has been part of the Oregon wine culture for three decades, and that will continue, only now, for Washington wine lovers, it’s easier than ever to get a taste of the Willamette Valley.”
