On the cusp of its 100th anniversary, Riboli Family Wine Estates is looking forward to the future and 100 more years

Riboli Family Wine EstatesOctober 25, 2016 (Paso Robles, Calif.) – Riboli Family Wine Estates is proud to announce its presence on the cover of The SOMM Journal, October/November 2016 issue.

The SOMM Journal is written by and for wine and beverage industry professionals, and broadens both emerging and veteran industry professionals’ understanding of the business.

“On the eve of celebrating their 100th anniversary as a family owned winery, the fourth generation of the Riboli family has already made headway for the next 100 years: sustainability in the vineyards, building a state-of-the-art winery in Paso Robles (that should last that long at least) – and the open-mindedness to invest in more vineyard real estate in Paso Robles, Monterey and the Napa Valley will no doubt bring great returns. Garnering superstar scores, media recognition, and gold medals has amped up their growing reputation among wine buyers, which will certainly be a momentum machine for future vintages and projects. Anthony Riboli is the family’s reigning visionary and deserves all the positive attention he and the winery are enjoying today.” – Meridith May, Publisher/Editorial Director; The SOMM Journal, The Tasting Panel and The Clever Root.

Proprietor and Winemaker Anthony Riboli is the first of the fourth generation to join the family business, and he brings a unique vision to the winery that is grounded in the richness of his family’s history. Earning an M.S. in viticulture at the University of California at Davis, Anthony is also the first formally trained member of the family. Along with Head Winemaker Arnaud Debons and Paso Robles Winemaker Ben Mayo, Anthony is focused on continuing the Riboli family legacy of crafting quality wines with innovation as a standard. “For the past 100 years, my family has been pioneers in the wine industry. Dedication to quality, hard work, innovation and integrity have always been at the forefront of our values, and those values are what will bring us through another successful 100 years,” says Anthony.

The new Paso Robles winery is even further testament to how the Riboli family is leading the way in sustainability and environmentally-friendly winemaking. The facility was designed to conserve energy and water, and limit waste. The winery will serve as the production home for the family’s portfolio of limited production wines including San Simeon, Maddalena, Opaque, and San Antonio Winery, among others.

“Our family has been committed to the flourishing regions of Paso Robles and Monterey County since the early 1980s. Our new winery in Paso Robles allows us to have more control over the quality of the wines produced, and to connect more closely with our guests and invest more into the community that we love,” says Anthony.
