San Francisco, Calif. (September 21, 2016) – The recently formed New Mission Winemakers coalition will hold their second annual wine tasting for the trade/media and public on Nov 12th in the SOMA neighborhood of San Francisco. The tasting will feature these storied Bay Area wine producers:

Harrington Wines – One of San Francisco’s original winemakers, Bryan Harrington is not only a Pinot Noir specialist but also a leader in producing wines from unique grapes such as Trousseau, Touriga Nacional, Mission, and sulfur-free wines.

Flywheel Wines – Scott Shapely specializes in small-lots of Pinot Noir, Grenache, Chardonnay and Mourvedre made in the heart of San Francisco. With experience from Siduri and Halcon, he focuses on fruit grown in Monterey County for Flywheel.

August West – A true Pinot specialist with an impressive and storied career, Ed Kurtzman has had his hands in dozens of legendary projects. His August West wines are made in San Francisco and embody his decades of experience.

Tessier Winery – The multi-talented Kristie Tacey thrives where craft and science meet. Her impressive track record with Pinot Noir from several appellations now also includes Grenache and Russian River Cab Franc.

Betwixt Wines – An Englishman now devoted to Northern California wine, Tim Telli’s Betwixt is dedicated to low intervention winemaking that underlines time and place.

Prima Materia – A former executive chef and a dedicated Italian grape winemaker, Pietro Buttitta has grown and crafted wines in Lake County for a decade. Prima Materia focuses on food as well as wine history, and he champions forgotten cultivars such as Aglianico, Sangiovese and Carmènére.
