Bryn Mawr Vineyards Announces New Chef Partnership and Summer Events

Salem estate offers a Brand New Food Program from Chef Jonathan Jones, and summer events including Taco Tuesdays and Small Producer Sundays

Salem, OR (May 7, 2024) Bryn Mawr Vineyards announces a new partnership with Chef Jonathan Jones, head chef of Salem’s Epilogue Kitchen & Cocktails, including a small plate menu to accompany wine tastings and a new Friday night dinner series offering a seasonal, reservation-only five-course meal paired with Bryn Mawr wines.

Jones is a two-time finalist for the James Beard “Best Chefs of the Northwest” Award. Originally from Southwest Pennsylvania, his culinary inspirations come from the cuisine of the Appalachian, Mid-Atlantic, and Upper Midwest regions. He is passionate about creating connections for people and food.

Jones worked with Bryn Mawr Vineyards’ staff to produce a seasonally inspired tasting menu that will pair with the estate wines, and will be offered in the tasting room every day. The menu will change throughout the year, but the first iteration includes five spice rabbit rillettes with toasted hazelnuts, wild mushroom salad with a ginger vinaigrette, rhubarb and fava cassoulet, and a dark chocolate espresso cake. Small plates are between $10 and $20, and available to order with a tasting.

“One of the items on my culinary bucket list was getting the opportunity to create a hyperlocal, ever-changing menu specifically designed to showcase world class wines,” Jones said. “That I get to do that at all is a dream come true. Doing it with the terroir-driven wines that Bryn Mawr produces, with the incredible folks who make Bryn Mawr what it is, in their beautiful location? I couldn’t ask for anything more.”

In addition to the new daily tasting menu, Jones will be creating a series of Friday night dinners, starting June 7. Every Friday through August, an innovative five-course menu will be created to pair with Bryn Mawr Vineyards wines, always showcasing local, seasonal ingredients. Although the small plate menu will be available to tasting room guests, reservations will be required for the Friday night dinners. Dinners are $150, and $135 for wine club members, with gratuity included.

Bryn Mawr Vineyards is excited to release their summer lineup of events, promising an unforgettable season filled with music, culinary delights, and exquisite wines. Featuring weekly events including Taco Tuesdays, Small Producer Sundays, Bubbles & Brunch, and Yoga + Wine, information and tickets for all events can be found on the winery’s website.

ABOUT BRYN MAWR VINEYARDS

Bryn Mawr, a Welsh name that loosely translates to “high hill,” is a family-run winery that stands perched atop the Western crest of the windswept Eola-Amity Hills AVA. The estate vineyard is farmed using organic and regenerative practices, following LIVE Certified sustainable standards to foster biodiversity and healthy ecosystems on the steep, rocky volcanic slopes. Winemaker Rachel Rose values adaptability and calculated risk, limiting the use of oak and sulfur to showcase the character of the vines. Rose’s winemaking is continuously playful, seeking to harmonize traditional winemaking with modern innovations, and she crafts extraordinary forward-thinking wines from varieties including Pinot Noir, Dolcetto, Tempranillo, Chardonnay, and Riesling. Bryn Mawr Vineyards produces 10,000 cases annually and is distributed in fifteen states.
