SACRAMENTO, CALIF., October 16, 2015 – Fred Franzia, CEO of Bronco Wine Company, will present the keynote luncheon address the first day of the Unified Wine & Grape Symposium on Tuesday, January 26, 2016.
“The Unified Symposium LLC Managing Committee and organizers are honored that Fred will be our keynote luncheon speaker,” said Dan Howard, executive director for the American Society for Enology and Viticulture (ASEV), a co-organizer of the event along with the California Association of Winegrape Growers (CAWG).
“I’m planning on having two central themes,” said Franzia about his address. “First, I want to talk about the pioneers in the industry and some of the interesting people I’ve met along the way. Then I’d like to talk about where I see the industry going in the future.”
Franzia started Bronco Wine in 1973 with his brother Joseph S. Franzia and cousin John Franzia. According to Wine Business Monthly, Bronco Wine is the fourth largest wine producer in the United States offering more than 60 brands nationwide. Fred is credited with creating one of the most successful wineries in the U.S. through competitive pricing models and inventive marketing techniques that have introduced a new generation of people to wine.
“With the benefit of extraordinary vision and gritty determination, Fred Franzia fundamentally changed the marketplace for growers, wineries and consumers alike,” said CAWG president John Aguirre. “And, given the current state of the wine market, I can’t think of a more interesting person to hear from than Fred Franzia.”
