Scopo Divino is one of only three wine bars in San Francisco to receive coveted recognition

(San Francisco, CA, August 8, 2018) Scopo Divino, a wine bar bistro located in the Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco, received the coveted Wine Spectator’s 2018 Award Of Excellence. This Wine Spectator award pays tribute to wine lists that do more than just excel, but those that successfully showcase a passion for exploring and sharing the world of wine, both with food and style. Held in high regard in the domestic and international community, an Award of Excellence conveys to current and potential guests that one’s wine program has been reviewed by experts and considered among the best in the world. Of the 2,453 restaurants recognized by Wine Spectator in this category, Scopo Divino was one of only three wine bars in San Francisco to receive this accolade.

Featuring a well-curated assortment of producers, with 36 wines available by the glass and over 140 by the bottle, Scopo Divino caters to both the savvy wine aficionados as well as those seeking a casual evening of wine and food. Dedicated to offering a high-end selection of worldly wines, and holding true to the philosophy that wine makes good therapy, owner Tim Hayman puts a focus on the emotional context of wine; it can heighten a mood, change a mood, or simply complement it. Guests can order a “Wine Therapy” session; a flight of their choosing, along with information on that flight, creating an emotional connection between the wine and the customer.

With a tagline and title translating to “The Divine Purpose of Wine”, Scopo Divino’s goal is to present guests with not only the perfect libations, but food and an environment to match. Serving much more than the standard cheese and charcuterie platters, this cozy wine bar offers a simple yet delicious menu. Led by New Orleans Chef Matthew Woods, the food program includes a full brunch and dinner menu well-seasoned with heart and soul. In addition to unique wines and tasty bites, guests can also enjoy live music and entertainment including Risqué Mondays, Motown Tuesdays, Jazz Jam Wednesdays, as well Live Jazz Sundays & Thursdays.

Scopo Divino is also celebrating their two year anniversary this month. Coupled with the recent Wine Spectator Award, they will be offering some celebratory offerings throughout the entire month of August. The popular Oysters Bastille will be available every day, and for the first time, the highly vaunted Library selection Robert Biale Black Chicken Zinfandel will be available by the glass.
