Grand Release of the First 100 Percent Beckstoffer Malbec in History – April 6

Adobe Road Winery is proud to announce the release of its 2015 Malbec – Beckstoffer Vineyards. This release marks the first time in history that a 100 percent Malbec from this historic Rutherford vineyard in the Napa Valley will be made available to the public. The wine is in limited quantity as only 96 cases are available.

Napa’s Beckstoffer Vineyards is widely known for producing the highest quality Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in the region for the finest wines. Adobe Road’s award-winning flagship Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from Georges III Vineyard, one of Beckstoffer’s six heritage vineyards. Adobe Road sourced this special Malbec from Beckstoffer’s Melrose Vineyard in Napa Valley.

Malbec is a crowd-pleasing, easy to drink wine with a ton of juicy fruit flavors. The grape originally grew in France, but has become well-known as an Argentinian varietal and is common as a blending fruit. Over the course of many years, Rutherford growers have concentrated their efforts on Cabernet Sauvignon and to find a single-varietal offering with distinctive quality like Adobe Road’s Beckstoffer Malbec is rare.

The Adobe Road Malbec retails for $75 and will be offered for sale direct to guests from April 6, 2018 in the winery’s downtown Petaluma tasting room and online. The public will have the chance to taste the wine for the very first time during the Grand Release, Friday, April 7.

Official Grand Release Details:

Tasting Notes:

Vanilla, violets and ripe blueberries fill out the aromatics in this Malbec. Dark fruit flavors persist into the palate and the rich mouthfeel is framed by dusty tannins, cocoa and juicy acidity. Richly colored and textured, this wine shows off the warm Rutherford soils. Intense violet and blackberry aromas leap out of the glass along with the details of pencil lead and caramel.
