Sonoma, CA (December 5, 2017) — Gloria Ferrer Caves & Vineyards has donated $50,000 to the Redwood Credit Union North Bay Fire Relief Fund in support of the victims of the historic wildfires that ravaged homes and businesses, spreading throughout Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino, and Lake counties in October.
One hundred percent of the tasting fee for the special “Glorious Relief Flight” and one dollar from every bottle purchased in the Gloria Ferrer Visitor Center, on the website or over the phone in October went toward the fundraising effort. Additional donations from the winery’s employees and a 2 to 1 matching donation from Freixenet USA, Gloria Ferrer’s parent company, supplemented this effort.
“We’re deeply grateful to all the organizations and individuals who have generously donated to the North Bay Fire Relief fund to help support fire survivors and relief efforts in our community,” said Matt Martin, Redwood Credit Union’s Vice President of Community Relations.
“When everyone comes together for a common cause, it demonstrates just how strong we all can be,” said Freixenet USA President Tom Burnet. “Our hearts go out to all those suffering because of these devastating wildfires. We continue to be grateful that our team was spared any personal losses. Now it’s time to help rebuild our communities.”
