Wine Business Examined and Deals Done at 5th Annual North Coast Wine Industry Expo

img_6858Healdsburg, CA, December 2nd, 2016 –The 5th Annual WIN Expo, North Coast Wine Industry Trade Show & Conference has been branded a huge success with more than 3,600 registered attendees, by the event producer, Wine Industry Network, Exhibitors, and industry attendees.

The Expo was once again held at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds and covered more than 90,000 square feet of exhibit & conference space, utilizing five buildings and featured 300 exhibitors and seven educational sessions.

One of the most popular sessions focused on the emerging Marijuana industry and how the wineries can cooperate and capitalize on crossover consumers. Several media outlets reported from the WIN Expo including the Press Democrat and KRCB.

This year, the focus of the WIN Expo was to create a yearly “buying day” for the wine industry in the spirit of Black Friday and Cyber Monday by launching #ExpoDeals. Exhibitors were encouraged to feature one-day only sales which were pushed out to attendees over the weeks leading up to the show allowing them a chance to plan their end-of year purchases.

Attendees showed up prepared with a shopping list and exhibitors to visit, and exhibitors reported that deals were being made.

“One of our goals is  for WIN Expo to be THE best buying show for our industry,” said George Christie, President of Wine Industry Network. “It’s a win-win for everyone. Attendees can save money on things that they need, and suppliers can make those end of year sales that sometimes make the difference between a good year and a great year.”

In addition, the Expo also held an afternoon wine tasting featuring the winning wines from the Press Democrat’s North Coast Wine Challenge. Attendees had the opportunity to taste several gold-medal wines from outstanding local producers.

“Every year, more and more people attend the show, and that’s an indication that we’re doing something right.” adds Christie, “We do everything possible each year to improve and based on the enthusiastic feedback from both exhibitors and visitors, we certainly feel we’ve built on to the success of previous years. Next year will be even better.”
