Named for Three Daughters, Astélia is sourced from Family Vineyards

Astélia RoséLanguedoc, France (May 5, 2016) – In time for the summer season, Languedoc producer Domaines Paul Mas announces the US launch of Astélia Rosé. Named after vigneron Jean-Claude Mas’ daughters – Astrid, Elisa and Apolline – the Astélia label depicts an image of the three girls.

“Astélia is a very personal project, that brings together the things that most inspire me: a passion for excellence in winemaking and my family,” explains Jean-Claude Mas, owner of Domaines Paul Mas. “My daughters are our fifth generation, and I wanted to pay tribute to them in a beautiful line of Languedoc wines that are sourced like fine works of art from our family vineyards.”

Building on the popularity of the family’s Côté Mas line, Astélia Rosé is the first release of the namesake wine series. Astélia Rosé is a blend of Mourvèdre, Cinsault, and Grenache and Syrah sourced from top vineyards across Domaines Paul Mas twelve estates, including Crès Ricards and Domaine de Nicole. Each varietal is vinified separately before blending and ages on the lees for up to 40 days. Pale pink in color, Astélia Rosé is an elegant wine with notes of cherry and red fruits.

The suggested retail price of Astélia Rosé 2015 is $17.99 per 750-ml bottle. The wine is currently available in New York and New Jersey, and will release nationally through summer 2016.
