Top 100 Wineries converge in San Francisco on October 20th

Wine & Spirits MagazineWine & Spirits Magazine will present its 12th Annual Top 100 Tasting event in San Francisco on Tuesday, October 20th at City View at METREON. The tasting, a benefit for San Francisco Baykeeper, will showcase this year’s Top 100 Wineries featured in the upcoming 2016 Annual Buying Guide — along with food pairings from San Francisco’s top restaurants and purveyors.

A favorite annual event among West Coast wine trade and consumers alike, the Top 100 features top-scoring wines selected during a year of blind tastings by the editorial staff of Wine & Spirits, guest sommeliers and retailers. Each year, the line-up has included some of the world’s most highly prized and hard-to-find wines.

“In all the years of publishing Wine & Spirits Magazine, we’ve never tasted so many wines—14,500 in all,” said Joshua Greene, Editor and Publisher of Wine & Spirits Magazine. “The Top 100 is our time to look back on all those blind tasting panels and enjoy the best of what we found, along with food from some of San Francisco’s best new restaurants. It’s an awesome night.”

The list of wineries featured at this year’s Top 100 event will be announced on September 20th. Wine & Spirits’ 2016 Annual Buying Guide will be available on newsstands October 13th.

The event will also include a preview of wines from the Second Annual Sommelier Scavenger Hunt. The international roster of sommeliers from this year’s Scavenger Hunt traveled to five separate regions in Australia and will be on hand at the Top 100 to share their findings with attendees.
