The name change comes in celebration of the company’s 30th anniversary, honoring founder Alex Guarachi’s dedication to his long standing winery and industry partners.
The move serves to refresh the company name that Guarachi originally used when he founded his import business out of a garage in Northern California thirty years ago. The Chilean entrepreneur saw potential to sell the wines of his home country in The United States, after an injury altered his plans to play professional soccer. By working in tandem with his winery partners, Guarachi triumphed over stiff domestic competition, becoming the #1 importer of South American wines over $10 in the US, according to Nielsen. The name Guarachi Wine Partners is hence a tribute to the valued relationships that the company has maintained over three decades of expansion into global imports, domestic sales and marketing, and new product innovation.
Guarachi Wine Partners represents Bodega Norton, Kaiken, Lea, Montes, Pascual Toso, Santa Ema and Tensley Wines. In addition to their thirty year track record of growing international and domestic producers in the U.S. market, the company also witnessed the successful launches of proprietary brands such as Black Ink, Guarachi Family Wines, Nobilissima and tenshən.
