– CANVAS adds Winery Tasting Room Hospitality Training –

canvasThe CANVAS Hospitality Excellence Training with Holly Stiel that has been so successful for Concierges has now additionally been adapted to Hospitality in the Tasting room. CANVAS has a large following from Wine Country businesses for its Hospitality Excellence Training. In partnership with Holly Stiel, they are leading the way to inspire Hospitality Professionals to “own” making extraordinary memories for those who visit Wine Country. In addition to targeting the specific needs of Winery Hospitality Professionals, they also have been asked to offer the course in the evening to make it easier for staff in Wineries to attend. The next Winery Tasting Room class will be comprised of two evenings, November 17 & 18 from 5:00 – 8:30. Historically these classes sell out.

“In addition to Northern California’s fine wine and fine food, CANVAS has set a mission to add outstanding Customer Service to Wine Country’s reputation. More than ever before, Customer Service is the leading differentiator in business today,” encourages Colby Smith, CANVAS’ Executive Director and Founder.

CANVAS’ training partner, Holly Stiel, has authored 6 books on the subject and does training for top businesses such as Auberge du Soleil, Hyatt, Hilton, Disney, The California Governor’s Council on Tourism, Nordstrom and globally for American Express’ Black Card Concierges, among many others.

“Holly’s humor and inspiration are what cause the trainings to have longevity and actually enhance behavior. We have floods of testimonials about the lasting value of the classes we offer.” adds Smith.

Among the subjects that will be covered at the upcoming training will be:

  • Igniting the underlying spirit of service
  • The finesse of handling the tough guests
  • Disarming challenging situations
  • Innovative ways to respond to expectations
  • Techniques for asking questions & listening between the lines

Taking the awareness of Customer Service a step further CANVAS will hold the second annual “CANVAS Excellence Awards” in February. Colleagues nominate and vote for each other based on stories about how the candidates went above and beyond on behalf of their guests. “The Gala is very rewarding since until now these hard working professionals had not received recognition for all they do. In this Destination Economy of Wine Country, these remarkable people direct millions and millions of dollars. Everything we do at CANVAS is to support them for the result of exceptional guest experiences, return visits, enthusiastic referrals and even Corporate business. By enhancing our community’s reputation for Customer Service, we all positively affect our economy.” Colby summarizes. Nominations are open until October 31st.
