Scheid Family Wines Adds New Team Members to Meet Rapid Domestic and Global Growth

Salinas, CA – March 25, 2024 – Scheid Family Wines welcomes David Sartain as Commercial Sales Director and Victoria Ash as Division Manager West to the family-owned and -operated wine company, one of the top 20 largest wine producers in California. Both bring expertise that will help meet the company’s rapid growth in bringing high-quality, estate-grown wines to the marketplace from its sustainably certified vineyards in Monterey and grower partners throughout the Central Coast. 

As Commercial Sales Director, Sartain leads the production sales team responsible for marketing and selling Scheid Family Wines’ assets of grapes, contract and bulk wines, and processing/storage services. Prior to joining Scheid Family Wines, Sartain worked for 23 years in Paso Robles, most recently as Vice President of Winemaking Operations for Daou Vineyards and Winery. Before that, he served as a consultant with Total Wine Solutions, helping establish wine and vineyard operations for emerging wine producers, and as general manager for Paso Robles Wine Services. 

As Division Manager West, Victoria Ash brings proven leadership to Scheid’s seven state Western Division, which includes California. She is responsible for overseeing shipments, depletions and growth, while working closely with the Company’s distributors to execute and increase sales. Most recently, Ash served as Director of Sales – Southwest for Purple Brands and Vice President/National Sales Manager for Westwood Estate Wines. She previously worked as a sales director for Purple Brands, Bacardi USA and Mendocino Wine Company.

On the wholesale side, VP of Sales John Holder added, “We are very excited for Victoria to join our team. Her experience and relationships across the Western region will be instrumental in our success in our home state of California, as well as Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, Alaska, and Hawaii. We are bringing Victoria on at an optimal time, as we have just completed the transformation of our internal sales structure to align to our biggest opportunity regions, chains, and our largest national distributor partner RNDC. I am looking forward to working with Victoria to continue to fuel our high growth ‘better for you’ brand Sunny with a Chance of Flowers in her focus states.”
