(JUNE 2017) Vino Del Sol is pleased to announce the debut of Zolo Signature Rosé, a terroir driven wine from two high altitude estate vineyards in Luján de Cuyo, offered at an incredible price point.

Zolo is a sustainably-farmed Argentine winery owned by Patricia Ortiz located in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza adjacent to the Andes. Zolo and its parent company Tapiz have gained fast U.S. distribution and quality recognition in the U.S. under importer Vino Del Sol, and with the help of former winemaker of Petrus, Jean Claude Berrouet.  Vino Del Sol brought in the first vintage of Zolo 13 years ago and it has long been established as one of the most trusted and successful Argentine brands in the US.

Zolo Signature Rosé is a blend of 60% Syrah, 35% Bonarda, and 5% Cabernet Franc and retails for $10. The grapes for this vintage were picked from vineyards located between 3,050-3,444 feet above sea level. The steep region and high desert climate allow for slow ripening and acid retention. The cool, fresh air at night and the warm sunshine during the day permit the grapes to produce great aromatic intensity. This rosé has a pale pink color and balanced acidity, with notes of cherry, plum, and rosewater.

The new Zolo Signature Rosé also features a bright, summer take on Zolo’s famous logo. The caricature of Patricia Ortiz’s husband in a dark, black suit with his hat in the wind, can now be seen wearing a striped t-shirt and polka-dot swim shorts.

“With incredible quality at this price point and a contemporary and fresh label, this is our opportunity to introduce sophisticated Argentinian rosés to the U.S. market,” says Patricia Ortiz.

ABOUT ZOLO

Patricia Ortiz founded Zolo’s parent company Tapiz 14 years ago after being in the medical field. Zolo is located in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza and wines are made entirely from estate vineyards in Agrelo, Alto Agrelo and Luján de Cuyo. Residing close to the Andes at various altitudes, each of these vineyard terroirs benefits from intense diurnal temperature variations and alpine winds that allow for slow ripening and acid retention. Zolo is one of the most technologically advanced wineries in Argentina and has gained fast U.S. distribution and quality recognition in the U.S. Patricia Ortiz attributes this growth to the incredible quality for value offered by each of her wines, and the consistency that they are able to maintain in each vintage.
