NAPA VALLEY, California (June 12, 2017)The PlumpJack Group today announced the opening of their recently acquired 82-acre Howell Mountain vineyard, winemaking and hospitality facility which will be a natural extension of CADE Estate Winery offering special library tastings.  CADE Estate was the first organically farmed LEED Gold Certified winery estate in Napa Valley founded by partners John Conover, Gavin Newsom and Gordon Getty.

The property acquisition was an ideal step for the ongoing evolution of The PlumpJack Group and CADE Estate as a highly successful producer of acclaimed Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc.  The vineyard is planted to approximately 74 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, three acres of Sauvignon Blanc, three and a half acres of Malbec and one acre of Petit Verdot, providing a significant increase in premium quality, estate vineyard grapes for the CADE Estate winemaking team.

“We’re incredibly lucky to own the newest and oldest wineries atop Howell Mountain and offer our guests contrasting unique experiences,” said John Conover, managing partner and general manager of CADE Estate Winery.  “This extension of CADE Estate is an exciting new addition to our portfolio and we look forward to hosting loyalists and newcomers alike to the property.”

Located atop Howell Mountain at an elevation of more than 1,600 feet, the new facility will offer tastings of the newest CADE Estate releases included the 2016 CADE Estate Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley and the 2015 CADE Estate Sauvignon Blanc, Oakville.  Additionally, rare library vintages and large formats will be available including the 2009 CADE Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Howell Mountain, 2008 CADE Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Howell Mountain and the 2006 CADE Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Howell Mountain, as well as the occasional unique wine such as the first vintage of CADE Estate produced.  Tastings will be conducted al fresco on the gravel terrace, adjacent to the historic three-story winery which is currently undergoing minor renovations led by famed architect Juan Carlos Fernandez and Napa-based interior designers, Shopworks.  The winery is slated to be completed in spring 2018.  More details about the elevated experiences to follow in the coming months.
