WinerySwapFebruary, 23 2016 – Union Springs, NY – WinerySwap (www.wineryswap.com) is pleased to announce the launch of the wine industry’s first online wine exchange.  The site allows winery colleagues around the country to effortlessly trade wine for free.

The process to use WinerySwap is quite simple.  Winery employees register on the site and post a “lot” of their own wine that they offer for trade.  They can browse from the other posted lots and swap, or wait for another colleague to contact them to exchange wine lots.  The members exchange delivery information and arrange to ship the wine via their preferred carrier.

Tom Higgins, owner of Heart & Hands Wine Company, created the site after years of trading wines with other colleagues at cross-country events.  “I love tasting wines from other regions, along with varieties that challenge the palate,” he said.  “Being able to exchange wine with our colleagues allows us to share from our own cellar and experience new wines from other places that may not be available in our market.”

Because wineries are familiar with state-by-state shipping regulations and have relationships with wine carriers, the website is limited to only winery employees and not the general public.  “I’m thrilled that my winery colleagues will now have a channel to easily share their products with each other,” Higgins said.
