Howell Mountain VintnersAngwin, CA – Traditionally, the winemakers and grape growers on Howell Mountain have supported the Howell Mountain Elementary School with the proceeds from their annual wine tasting and charity auction, Taste of Howell Mountain. This year, in response to the Valley Fire, the group decided to increase and broaden their support of the local community by making a $5,000 cash donation to the Angwin Volunteer Fire Department.

Noting the interdependence between the local citizens and its support groups, the Howell Mountain vintners and growers recognize the need to support those who serve the local community when they need them most. The donation was made without restriction and will be used as needed by the fire department.

In 2015, the Howell Mountain Vintners & Growers Association also donated over $52,000 to the Howell Mountain Education Foundation which channels the money where needed most into the Howell Mountain Elementary School. This is a long-standing tradition of support of the school by the wine industry on the mountain and will continue in 2016 at the 21st Annual Taste of Howell Mountain.

On Saturday, June 18th, the Taste of Howell Mountain will be held at Charles Krug Winery in St. Helena. The event will feature a wine tasting of Howell Mountain appellation wines along with a silent and live auction. The public is invited to this leisurely and pleasurable afternoon under the sun and trees, sipping wine, enjoying friends and fellow wine lovers in a gorgeous setting. The event begins at 12:00 p.m. with walk-around wine tasting and silent auction with the live auction following at 3:00 p.m. People come from all over the United States to enjoy this rare event when all the winemakers of Howell Mountain make their products available to the public.
