Petaluma Gap WAJune 11, 2015, Petaluma, California The Petaluma Gap Wine Alliance (PGWA) would like to invite you to the first annual Wind to Wine Festival, celebrating the vineyards and wineries in the Petaluma Gap region of Sonoma County. The highlight of the event, The Grand Tasting, will take place Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the Sheraton Sonoma County in Petaluma, California.

“Although part of the PGWA’s focus is to make sure our presence is known to a national audience, it’s important that our friends and neighbors here in the region know about us.” says Ana Keller, president of the Alliance and owner of Keller Estate Winery. “The local community is an integral component in defining the unique ‘sense of place’ here in the Gap, sort of a personal aspect of the area’s terroir.”

The Grand Tasting will feature over thirty wineries proudly pouring wine made from grapes grown by members of the Petaluma Gap Wine Alliance. General Admission tickets are priced at $95 each, with VIP tickets also available for $150. In addition to early admission to the grand tasting, the price includes a seat at a seminar led by local sommelier/consultant Christopher Sawyer featuring a dozen wines from the area, followed by lunch and then the Grand Tasting. During the tasting, VIPs will also have access to the Elite Wine Lounge.

Rickey Trombetta Stancliff of Trombetta Family Wines adds: “The lounge will give attendees a one-on-one opportunity to meet winemakers and taste our special releases and older wines from the cellar.”

Confirmed wineries at this time include Bailiwick, Keller Estate, Trombetta Family, Fogline, Pfendler, MacEvoy Ranch, Sojurn Cellars, Bruliam Wines, Enriquez Etate, MacPhail, Pellet and WALT Wines. Revenue from Wine to Wine will be used to support the efforts of the PGWA, which has recently filed a petition with the TTB for the granting of the Petaluma Gap AVA (American Viticultural Area).

As part of the Festival, there are plans for winemaker dinners at Keller Estate and MacAvoy Ranch on Friday, August 7th,  as well as a non-competitive jog at 8:30 AM at Schollenberg Park on Sunday, August 9th. Many of the member wineries and vineyards will also have open houses throughout the day.
