tgic wine(LOS ANGELES, CA) September, 2014 – TGIC Global Fine Wine Company has signed an agreement to be the sales and marketing wine company to represent Tensley Wines and Lea in the United States. TGIC is a long established global importer, marketer and innovator of fine wines, with a 30 year track record of growing international and domestic producers in the U.S. market. This new partnership with winemakers Joey and Jennifer Tensley and their respective Santa Barbara County AVA brands, Tensley Wines and Lea, marks an exciting opportunity for TGIC to expand distribution and consumer awareness for these boutique California wines.

Tensley Wines, by Joey Tensley, has collected 10 years worth of accolades for pioneering world class cool climate Syrah in Santa Barbara County. Lea, made by wife Jennifer Tensley, has likewise developed a loyal fan base for crafting single vineyard Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir, Rosé and Chardonnay.  Prior to working with TGIC, both of these brands were largely sold via their wine clubs and Los Olivos, California tasting room. TGIC now offers the U.S. market wider distribution of Lea and Tensley Wines by dispersing limited allocations of each brand to select regions throughout the country.

“Both Lea and Tensley Wines are a great domestic luxury addition to our portfolio of high quality global wineries. We are very excited to introduce these exceptional wines to our distributor partners, as this is an incredible opportunity to expose consumers to these very special producers,” says Alex Guarachi, CEO and founder of TGIC.

“My wife and I have grown our brands through sticking with the simple philosophy of picking the best fruit of the year from our region and then bringing it to bottle with very limited human interruption in the process. We believe that Alex Guarachi and TGIC are the right partners for us in the next chapter of our business, as we can maintain our brand DNA and authentic terroir expressions without compromise,” says Joey Tensley.

In addition to this new partnership, Alex Guarachi and Joey Tensley have collaborated to create a new wine called tenshən, which was announced September, 2015. tenshən is a new red Rhône varietal blend from Santa Barbara County AVA, which captures the unique Santa Barbara County expression of Rhône varietals, as harvested at the perfect moment of ripening. As Tensley Wines Syrahs are often listed as top in the world, this collaboration is a chance for consumers to taste Tensley’s masterful blends for an affordable $25 price point. tenshən is a play on words that nods to Tensley’s winemaking acumen and the tension that occurs when picking at just the right moment and then getting out of the way.
