Independent, family-owned distributor marks its 30th anniversary with statewide Missouri distribution, offices in Kansas City and St. Louis, and an expanded portfolio of premium wine and spirits

September 14, 2026 (Kansas City, MO) — Handcrafted Wine & Spirits today announced the official opening of Handcrafted Wine & Spirits of Missouri, establishing Missouri as the company’s fifth operating state. In conjunction with the expansion, Handcrafted has relocated its corporate headquarters from Lenexa, Kansas, to 3525 Roanoke Road, Suite 110, Kansas City, Missouri 64111.
The milestone comes during Handcrafted’s 30th anniversary year and marks the next stage in the company’s growth as an independent, family-owned distributor of premium wine and spirits. With the Missouri opening, Handcrafted now operates across Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Oregon and Missouri.
Handcrafted’s Missouri business will serve customers statewide from its Kansas City headquarters and a second office in St. Louis. The company enters the market with 10 sales professionals and two sales managers, led by Betsy Gariglietti, Vice President of Sales – Missouri, and Steve Perrine, Director of Chain Sales – Missouri.
“Opening Missouri during our 30th anniversary year is a meaningful milestone for our company,” said Donald Brain, Chief Executive Officer of Handcrafted Wine & Spirits. “We have grown from a Kansas wine & spirits distributor into a five-state organization, but our purpose has remained the same: earn the trust of our suppliers and customers, invest in knowledgeable local teams, and build brands for the long term. Establishing our headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri, reflects our commitment to this market and gives Handcrafted a strong foundation for its next chapter.”
The initial Missouri portfolio includes supplier and producer partners such as Winebow, Mexcor, Total Beverage Solution, Lange Estate, Van Duzer Vineyards, Right Brain Selections, Cream of Kentucky, Banville, Valdemar Estates, and Trinity River, Gunnar’s Bourbon, among others. The portfolio reflects Handcrafted’s focus on distinctive producers, education, compelling brand stories, and consultative selling across both on-premise and retail channels.
“Missouri gives us an exciting opportunity to introduce Handcrafted’s focused, customer-first approach while building meaningful partnerships with the market’s outstanding customers and suppliers,” said Matthew Johnson, Chief Commercial Officer of Handcrafted Wine & Spirits. “We have assembled an experienced local team and a differentiated portfolio built to compete in both the on-premise and retail channels. As an independent, mid-sized wholesaler, we can give supplier partners meaningful attention while providing customers with responsive service, education, and disciplined execution. Our goal is not simply to enter Missouri; it is to become a trusted, long-term partner in the market.”
Handcrafted’s statewide model combines experienced local leadership with the resources, relationships, and commercial capabilities of a growing multi-state platform. The Missouri team will focus on building durable customer relationships, delivering consistent market-level support, and creating sustainable growth for supplier partners throughout the state.
The Missouri opening follows a year of significant investment by Handcrafted in commercial leadership, supplier partnerships, and operating capabilities. Relocating the corporate headquarters to Kansas City places the company’s leadership alongside its newest state operation while maintaining close ties to the broader Kansas City metropolitan area that Handcrafted has called home for three decades.
