Award-Winning Wine Brand Introduces an Alcohol-Removed Chardonnay

Napa, Calif., January 16, 2023 – Delicato Family Wines, importers of RELAX, an award-winning wine  brand known for its approachable wine style and refreshing design, announced today the launch of  RELAX “Zero” Alcohol-Removed Chardonnay. The introduction marks Delicato Family Wines’ first foray  in the burgeoning non-alcoholic (“NA”) wine category, which has grown 46 percent in dollar sales over  the last year.1

“The explosive growth of the NA wine category has been driven by alcoholic beverage consumers  who are looking for options that deliver the flavors and experience of enjoying wine, while cutting out  the alcohol,” commented Bret Johnson, marketing director for Delicato Family Wines. “In fact, a  whopping 94% of non-alcoholic beverage buyers are also purchasing alcoholic beer, wine or spirits,” Johnson continued.

Further, noted Johnson, “These consumers are, by and large, looking for trusted brands. RELAX is a well-known and highly trusted brand that sells more than a quarter million cases of wine in the U.S. each year.” Chardonnay leads the booming varietal NA category, claiming a 30 percent dollar share with sales continuing to grow sharply, increasing 48 percent over last year.

“Given the brand’s popularity and consumer loyalty, as well as the exploding demand for non-alcoholic Chardonnay, we think that a premium NA Chardonnay makes a compelling extension of the RELAX brand,” continued Johnson.

Made in a lively, refreshing style, RELAX “Zero” Alcohol-Removed

Chardonnay features bright flavors of crisp apple, juicy mango and  a subtle hint of oak on the finish. Each eight-ounce serving contains 12 grams of carbohydrates, 44 calories and has an alcohol level of less than 0.5 percent.

The wine is made by distilling traditionally made Chardonnay wine in a state-of-the-art vacuum that  preserves its classic flavors while gently extracting the natural alcohol content to less than 0.5% by  volume.

RELAX “Zero” Alcohol-Removed Chardonnay carries a suggested retail price of $11.99 and began  shipping to retailers nationwide this month, a launch that coincides with “Dry January” and the  nation’s seasonal spike in non-alcoholic drink sales. RELAX “Zero” Alcohol-Removed Chardonnay joins  the RELAX lineup that includes RELAX Riesling, the number one selling imported Riesling in the U.S., and RELAX Rosé.
