Calistoga, Napa Valley, July 2023- Kelly Fleming Winery has named Jennifer Williams as Consulting Winemaker. “We are delighted to have Jennifer join our team and look forward to her insights and expertise,” said Proprietor Kelly Fleming, in making the announcement.

Williams graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a major in Agriculture. In the summer of 1995, she came to the Napa Valley to study viticulture as a harvest intern at Beaulieu Vineyards. After graduating, she joined Trefethen Family Vineyards as an enologist. She worked in the vineyards and wineries at Spottswoode Estate and Araujo Estate Wines. She has worked on the Central Coast, Washington’s Walla Walla and in Spain’s Rioja Alavesa regions. In 2004 Williams was named vineyard manager at Spottswoode and then winemaker in 2006. For the past 12 years, she has operated a winemaking consulting business working with clients to craft luxury wines.

Williams grew up in southern California, outside San Diego, and developed a passion for agriculture as a young person. Her family’s fruit trees inspired her to explore the taste, texture, and acidity differences between varieties of apples growing there. She and her husband Mark Porembski and their three children live a life grounded in agriculture in the Napa Valley.

Kelly Fleming Wines is located at 2339 Pickett Road off the Silverado Trail, two miles south of the town of Calistoga. Proprietor Kelly Fleming acquired the 300-acre property in 1998 and began planting vineyards in 1999.

Today 6.48 acres are planted to Cabernet Sauvignon; 4 acres were lost in the Glass Fire and have now been replanted. The vines are vertical-shoot-positioned and cordon-pruned. The vineyard is nestled in Simmons Canyon on slopes that range from 5% to 30%.

Current releases are 2022 Sauvignon Blanc, 2021 Queen Bee Reserve Sauvignon Blanc, 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, 2019 Big Pour Red and occasional library releases of these wines.

Designed by Taylor Lombardo Architects of San Francisco, the 5,000-square-foot stone winery building was completed in 2010. The winery’s first release was the 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon and currently has an annual production of approximately 1,200 cases.

The winery is open for tours and tastings by reservation only, Monday – Saturday.

The winery offers an allocation program (https://www.kellyflemingwines.com/Allocations ) and maintains waiting lists for its wines.
