There’s Still Plenty of Time to Enjoy Oregon Wine Month Events

Events across the state celebrating Oregon Wine include wine flights, wine dinners, wine walks, festivals, a movie pairing and much more 

Portland, OR, May 17, 2023 … Oregon Wine Month may be at the halfway point, but Oregon wine lovers still have time to take advantage of the plethora of Oregon events including wine tasting and learning this May. Now in its 15th year, Oregon Wine Month celebrates the quality and diversity of Oregon wine through engaging in events and experiences happening all across the state.  

The Oregon wine calendar of events is packed this May. Here’s a sampling of ones to come, divided into major winemaking regions of the Willamette Valley, Southern Oregon, Columbia Gorge, Walla Walla, and Eastern Oregon with Snake River Valley and Columbia Valley AVAs. 

Willamette Valley 

Newberg, May 20: Celebrate the re-opening of Flaneur’s Blue Barn at La Belle Promenade Vineyard for an open house style party. Admission includes a flight of five new release wines. 

Dayton, May 20: The first annual event of its kind, AAPI Food & Wine Fest attendees can enjoy curated bites from AAPI-owned Portland restaurants paired with wineries: Toki, Matta, HeyDay, Baon Kainan, Kim Jong Grillin, Bhuna, KauKau, Magna Kusina, Sibeiho and Sunrice, CHO Wines, Et Filles, Evening Land, Hundred Suns and Shiba Wichern. 

Dundee, May 20-21: Nysa Vineyard offers a special vertical flight of Leda’s Reserve Pinot noir from vintages of 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 of their popular reserve wine from the original plantings in 1990. New spring releases wines as well, including sparkling wine. 

More events to enjoy in the Willamette Valley

Southern Oregon 

The Rogue Valley and the Umpqua shine in May. Here’s a sample of what’s going on, and for full event listings visit Rogue Valley Wine Country and Umpqua Wine events.  

  • Jacksonville, May 19: Daisy Creek Vineyard, Live music with Nick Garett Powell and winetasting. 
  • Applegate, May 20:     Celebrate growing season with a self-guided tour of the Applegate Valley Wine Country with 17 Applegate Valley wineries at the Uncorked Barrel Tour
  • Roseburg, May 26-27: Reustle-Prayer Rock Vineyards release of 2021 Grenache. 
  • Cave Junction, May 27-29: Winemaker’s choice Library Tasting at Foris with wines of Stephanie Pao’s choosing May 27th, 28th, and 29th, fun and educational experience. 
  • Roseburg, May 27-28: Memorial Day Weekend Open House at Abacela winetasting + keepsake glass.   
  • Medford, May 29: Salmon Bake at DANCIN with live music from Jeff Kloetzel. Reservations required.
