New wine releases include collaborations with L’Angolo Estate, Hazelfern, as well as a Willamette Valley Chardonnay and Pinot Noir
PORTLAND, Ore. (November 16, 2022) – Chosen Family Wines, founded by NBA Champion and former Portland Trail Blazer, Channing Frye, with a mission to connect people through some of the best wines imaginable, is pleased to introduce four new wines this fall: a 2020 Syrah in collaboration with Hazelfern to be released November 18th, a 2021 Chardonnay in collaboration with L’Angolo Estate to be released November 30th, and a 2021 Willamette Valley Chardonnay and Pinot Noir available now.
2021 Willamette Valley Chardonnay ($35): Bright and lively with tasting notes of green apple, white flowers, candied lemon, brioche, and a refreshing minerality. Harvested in the Willamette Valley in September of 2021 and aged 11 months in 15% new French oak, 75% neutral French oak, and 10% stainless steel,
2021 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir ($39): An inviting Pinot Noir with tasting notes of cherry pie, raspberry, spice box, forest floor, and a bright acidity. Harvested in the Willamette Valley in September of 2021 and aged 11 months in 15% new French oak, and 85% neutral French oak,
2020 Syrah, Chosen Family x Hazelfern Syrah ($55): A memento of the terroir of Walla Walla with aromas of boysenberry, Bing cherry, El Dorado spiced plum, and wild blackberry bramble are accented by scents of fresh earth, leather, star anise, and baking spice. On the palate, this wine is elegantly framed with juicy dark fruit and notes of cedar pencil shavings, dried rose petal, and cocoa powder dust. Harvested in September 2020 in the Walla Walla Valley AVA and aged 20 months in 38% new oak. Available on November 18th.
2021 Chardonnay, Chosen Family x L’Angolo Estates ($65): Richly layered, with a plethora of tropical and citrus fruits. Hints of honeysuckle and white jasmine are finished with a baking spice sweetness. Harvested in September 2020 in the Dundee Hills AVA and aged 12 Months in 30% new oak. Available on November 30th.
The 2021 Willamette Valley Chardonnay and Pinot Noir can be purchased individually or as part of the Dynamic Duo 4-Bottle Pack ($148), which includes two bottles of each varietal.
