Writing Between the Vines offers writing retreats at five local wineries

Sebastopol, CA. (November, 7 2022) Five Sonoma County wineries—Moshin Vineyards, Keller Estate, DeLoach Vineyards, Jordan Winery, and West Wines— will host writers for Writing Between the Vines writing retreat program in 2023.

Now in it’s 10th year, Writing Between the Vines partners with wineries to host writers in residencies of up to one week in length. Participating wineries become part of a professionally managed artist-in-residence program that awards writing retreats to qualified applicants. Over the years the program has received great support and generosity from the community starting with Moshin Vineyards, a champion of the program from the beginning and host for the past nine years. Keller Estate has participated for three seasons. “We are always thrilled to offer a new perspective to writers. A place where they can take nature in, sip a glass of wine and let their creative process find a new path,” says Ana Keller.

New to the program for 2023 season are Sonoma County based wineries—Jordan Winery in Healdsburg, DeLoach Vineyards in Santa Rosa, and West Wines in Healdsburg. Katrina Bode of West wines states “West Wines is excited to participate and hope to inspire writers with our vineyard views and ambiance under the old giant valley oak.”

At Deloach Vineyards, the art and gardens will certainly add to the experience  “We believe the inspiring views and peaceful setting at DeLoach Vineyards will cultivate the muse for writers and we look forward to hosting a 2023 Writing Between the Vines retreat recipient,” notes Deloach Event Manager Staci Sheets.

Founded in 2012, by Marcy Gordon, Writing Between the Vines has hosted over fifty writers in locations across the United States and Canada. The 2023 season has five locations with placements available for up to nine writers in both solo and co-residency retreats. Applications are now open for spots in the 2023 season. Deadline to apply is November 28, 2022. More details may be found here: http://www.writingbetweenthevies.org
