February 2nd — Mendota Heights, Minn. – Prestige Beverage Group, an industry leading importer and brand owner of award-winning wines and spirits from around the globe, is pleased to announce the addition of Pinot Noir to its ÖKO family of wines made with organic grapes.

ÖKO is an eco-wine, made with a vision of premium quality and a balance with nature. This is achieved by partnering with growers whose vineyards are certified organic by an internationally accredited organization to produce wines of distinction and quality. The grapes used in ÖKO Pinot Noir are certified organic by ECOCERT France SAS and the agency’s seal of approval is featured on the bottle.

“Like all good wine, the secret is in the vineyard, and our organic viticulture takes quality to another level,” said Hugh Ryman, Wine Maker of ÖKO Pinot Noir. “Our exceptional high-altitude vineyards in the Minervois area of France give this wine an extraordinary fruit dimension that is preserved by our attentive winemaking.”

The new Pinot Noir offering is made up of 97% Pinot Noir and 3% Grenache organic grapes from the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France. It boasts juicy flavors of raspberry and cherry layered with strawberry and hints of licorice, oak, and tobacco. Additionally, the 2021 San Francisco International Wine Competition awarded the wine a Gold Medal for its first 2020 vintage.

“Sustainability is more top-of-mind than ever before, and as we all slowly adjust to our new normal, eco-aware consumers are looking to not only take care of themselves, but the planet as well,” said Doug Goserud, SVP Supplier Relations at Prestige Beverage Group. “ÖKO wines are made with a vision of a balance with nature, and we’re proud to offer an uncompromised Pinot Noir of premium quality.”

Recent Nielsen data shows that organic wine trends are here to stay with retail sales of organic and biodynamic wine surging over the last four years. For the 52 weeks ending March 20, 2021, organic wine sales totaled $154 million, compared to just $27.2 million for the 52 weeks ending March 25, 2017.

ÖKO’s new Pinot Noir is hitting shelves in select markets now through Prestige Beverage Group. The wine is available in 750ml bottles for an SRP of $13.99 and joins the current ÖKO family of wines made with organic grapes including Pinot Grigio, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon.
