Villa Sandi Prosecco Doc Rosé Hits US Market

Inaugural release bolsters successful Il Fresco portfolio

Folio Fine Wine PartnersNapa, CA — Wednesday December 2, 2020 — National importer and fine wine marketing agency, Folio Fine Wine Partners, today announced the launch of Villa Sandi Prosecco Rosé Millesimato DOC. The Rosé joins the successful ‘Il Fresco’ line, a fresh and crisp style of sparkling wine, and will retail for $17 per bottle in select regional markets.

Prosecco Rosé Millesimato DOC is produced exclusively from Glera and Pinot Noir grapes and blended in a specific percentage, as defined by the production rules: minimum 85 percent Glera and 10 to 15 percent Pinot Noir. The Pinot Noir, as the Glera, must be grown inside the Prosecco DOC area and spends a minimum of 60 days on lees, longer than regular Prosecco DOC.

Villa Sandi owner and Consorzio DOC Prosecco Board member, Giancarlo Moretti Polegato has been a supporter of Prosecco Rosé since the creation of Prosecco DOC appellation since 2009, and is thrilled with this new development:

“For the production of our Prosecco Rosé Millesimato DOC, we feel that it’s important to maintain the grape’s character while also showing how it reflects the appellation’s unique terroir.”

Moretti Polegato continued:

“In the Prosecco DOC area, we have been growing Pinot Noir on our own estates for many years, and we are glad to have an opportunity to represent the different characteristics of the different grape varieties that we grow.”

Prosecco Rosé Millesimato DOC allows Villa Sandi to further strengthen its deep bond with the territory and keep to its commitment as a steward of the values and uniqueness of the extraordinary land of Prosecco. The Moretti Polegato family has been a leading light in creating and promoting the reputation and culture of Prosecco worldwide, while also keeping its commitment to quality, tradition and respect for the environment.

Passion and dedication to present the best expressions of Prosecco come under many forms – the Moretti Polegato family’s love for its land doesn’t only result in premium wines but also in the care for the terroir.

The company vineyards are “Biodiversity Friend” certified and this certification states that the grape-growing and wine production practices are designed to preserve the health and integrity of the environment and its biodiversity. Its sustainable practices also extend to renewable energy sources (from solar panels to the estate’s hydroelectric plant), to the reduction of CO2 emissions and water conservation.

Deep respect for territorial identity and varietal features, combined with extreme care for details, make Villa Sandi an icon of the area, a symbol of the Italian lifestyle.
