Tesseron family targets future growth for prestigious Napa Valley property
Napa, CA — Wednesday July 12, 2023 — Folio Fine Wine Partners, a leading national importer of fine wines, is pleased to announce the addition of Pym-Rae Tesseron Estate to its portfolio, effective September 1, 2023. The partnership further strengthens Folio’s Napa Valley portfolio, and its vision to represent the world’s finest family-owned and managed wine producers.

Pym-Rae Tesseron Estate was founded in 2016 by the Tesseron family, whose interests also include Tesseron Cognac and Bordeaux’s Château Pontet-Canet. This altitude vineyard was planted more than thirty years ago by its previous owner, the late Robin Williams, to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, varieties the family mastered through their fifty years of ownership of Pontet-Canet.
Grown with organic, biodynamic, and dry farming methods on the rocky hillsides of Mount Veeder, Pym-Rae is a Bordeaux blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc. Made by winemaker Jérôme Ledit in consultancy with Michel Rolland, the wine is an expression of 30 year-old-vines, planted across 18.5 acres, from three grape varieties, two vineyard blocks and expressed in a singular wine.
About Pym-Rae
In 2016 the Tesseron family became the owners of Villa Sorriso (Villa of Smiles), the former property of the late actor, Robin Williams. The property included the 30-year-old vineyards planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, varieties the family were familiar with through their ownership of Pontet-Canet. The actor christened the vineyard with the middle names of his children “PYM” and “RAE”. As a sign of respect to the previous owners, the Tesserons retained the name as an homage to Williams and the property.
