Virtual research and education conference convenes wine professionals and academic scholars on navigating uncertainty 

Sonoma State LogoSonoma County, California – Sonoma State University’s second annual Wine Business Institute Research Summit will be hosted virtually on July 15, 2020, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The conference will include ten 15-minute sessions. Members of the community interested in attending can register at https://wbiresearchsummit.sonoma.edu.

Speakers will include Kat Stark, director of Wine.com Experiences; Karen Daenen, director of research and consumer insights at Jackson Family Wines, Dr. Steven Cuellar, professor of economics; Dr. Robert Eyler, professor of economics and senior international officer; Dr. Armand Gilinsky, Jr., Korbel Professor of Wine Business; Terry Hill, partner at BPM’s Advisory Practice; Dr. David McCuan, professor of political science; Stephen Rannekleiv, global sector strategist beverages at Rabo AgriFinance; Samual Riewe, adjunct faculty of Economics, and Pierre Costa, adjunct faculty of wine business.

“We look forward to an insightful discussion and sharing of innovative strategies and resources to help our community navigate uncertainty amidst the pandemic,” said Ray Johnson, executive director of the Wine Business Institute in the School of Business and Economics at SSU.

“By combining the expertise of business leaders and academics, the Wine Business Institute is uniquely positioned to help the industry move forward in these uncertain times. I look forward to meeting and greeting representatives of the wine business community as I take the helm as dean,” said Jean-Francois Coget, dean of the School of Business and Economics at SSU.
