Acclaimed Howell Mountain Estates to Offer Unique Outdoor, After-Hours Experiences
NAPA, Calif. (July 13, 2020) – The PlumpJack Group is pleased to announce new outdoor sunset wine experiences at CADE Estate and 13th Vineyard by CADE, beginning this month. CADE Estate and 13th Vineyard by CADE are nestled on the dramatic slopes of Napa’s famed Howell Mountain, far above the fog line at an elevation of over 1,800 feet. Transformative sweeping views, warm twilight air, and highly sought-after wines by praised Winemaker Danielle Cyrot make these two estates the perfect venues for sunset viewings. The monthly sunset experiences are the ultimate activity to cap off a day in Napa Valley or add some romance to a pre-dinner apero hour.
With the wineries’ emphasis on sustainability and environmental responsibility, the experiences highlight the natural beauty of their pristine Howell Mountain terroir. “One of the many unique qualities of Howell Mountain is its impactful climate, which is cool during the days, warming as the sun begins to sink,” said Winemaker Danielle Cyrot. “We believe these sunset experiences will allow our guests to feel and embrace the unique climate firsthand and recognize how this pattern imparts flavor in each of our wines.”
While guests enjoy CADE Estate and 13th Vineyard by CADE’s stunning views of the valley far beneath them, a wine educator will be on hand to elaborate on the estates’ flagship Cabernet Sauvignons and Sauvignon Blanc and help guests choose which bottle(s) will pair best with their sunset.
Named in honor of its historic past – the 13th bonded winery in Napa Valley – 13th Vineyard by CADE is a natural extension of neighboring sister property CADE Estate Winery, founded by partners John Conover, Gordon Getty and Gavin Newsom. The 13th Vineyard by CADE property has a rich history dating back to Napa Valley’s first American settler, George C. Yount, in 1836. Most recently, in 2000, the property was sold to Anne and Pat Stotesbery, who established Ladera Winery, restored the original stone building, and built wine caves into the hillside. In 2016 the PlumpJack Group purchased the property and established 13th Vineyard by CADE, offering library experiences catered to the wine connoisseur or visitors looking to add vintages to their collection.
13th Vineyard by CADE will offer the Sunset Experience beginning July 23rd and continue every second and fourth Thursday of July, August, and September from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The experience costs $50 per guest in addition to a minimum two bottle purchase. Appetizers are included.
CADE Estate will offer the Ultimate Sunset Experience on July 30 and August 20 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Each experience will include a special visit from Winemaker Danielle Cyrot, two bottles of CADE Estate wine and a charcuterie board. Experiences are limited to five tables of four people for a cost of $500 per table.
