Lompoc, CA (October 2, 2018) – As part of Lompoc’s ARTOBER, Flying Goat is hosting Katie Marie Artistry for a lively painting party inspired by Flying Goat wines. Katie will provide canvas, easels, paint, aprons, brushes, tables and painting material/ideas for each person to choose from. A glass of wine is included to release your inner artist.
Katie Bradbury Alva has been drawing, painting and dabbling in photography since she was 6 years old. After moving to California in 2009, she started surfing and became a Diamond Member with the Salt Water Divas. While connecting with the beauty of the ocean and becoming friends with such influential women, she wanted to start accomplishing more in her life. People have always told her, “I wish you’d do something with your art. You’re so talented, don’t waste it.” So after a couple of very difficult years and getting motivation from her “Special Man Friend” (her boyfriend), Katie started to pursue her artistic vision.
In this collection, “a lot of my designs are a reflection of the ebb and flow of the sea (and life), sometimes calm and beautiful, but sometimes harsh and dark. Some are just fun colorful experiments that went well,” says Katie. Katie commissions private art pieces, including portraiture drawings, pet portraits and paintings. Most of Katie’s free time is spent with her Boyfriend and his two children. They enjoy surfing, beach days, hiking, skateboarding, having back yard fires and exploring the local food scene. Travel is an important aspect of their life as well, frequenting Lake Tahoe, Oregon and finding hidden gems here in the Central Coast.
