As sparkling wine sales continue to climb, Spain’s best kept secret debuts in the United States

New York, NY (January 9, 2017)Pata Negra Cava, the best kept sparkling secret in Spain, has arrived in the United States. Steeped in Spanish culture and heritage, the super-premium cava sparkles inside and out. The cava is produced using the traditional champagne method, which yields a higher quality wine that sparkles with its own natural and finer bubbles. The label design took inspiration from the gate of Antoni Gaudi’s Casa Mila in Barcelona, interpreted to adorn the bottle with an instantly recognizable shimmer rooted in Spanish tradition and artistry. Pata Negra Cavas are produced in Barcelona, at a winery located atop a hill that slopes gently toward the Mediterranean Sea. Its origins date back to 1647, with a walled estate from the seventeenth century. Today, the winery is surrounded by an estate of 309 acres containing Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tempranillo and Chardonnay vineyards.

Bright pale yellow with a continuous release of small fine bubbles, this bottle offers clean and intense aromas of apples and citrus, with subtle hints of brioche integrated during its aging. Elegant, balanced, and well-structured with a smooth and pleasant finish, this vintage Cava is a lovely aperitif and pairs well with light but rich foods: think pasta, fish, or chicken.

Varietals: 80% Trepat, 20% Pinot Noir

Varietals: 100% Garnacha

A vibrant bright-pink color, this bottled beauty uses organic Garnacha grapes to create delicate aromas of dried strawberries and raspberries. The crisp bubbles and balanced acidity is gentle on the palate, followed by a lingering fruity aftertaste. Delicious with salads, white meat, risotto, BBQ and desserts.

According to a study conducted by IRi Worldwide in 2017, sparkling beverages comprise 10% of the total wine market and the category is growing, with yearly sales increasing at an average of $100 million.
