Alameda County FairgroundsEntries are now being accepted for Sauvignon Summit & Zin Challenge, two parts of a unique wine competition. Known as the Alameda County Wine Competition, Sauvignon Summit & Zin Challenge, the popular wine judging is held in May at the Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton.

Alameda County Wine Competition is open only to wineries in Alameda County.  For wineries outside Alameda County, there are three entry choices: Sauvignon Summit, open to all California wineries making Sauvignon Blanc and/or Fume Blanc; Zin Challenge, open to all U.S. wineries making red Zinfandel; or you can enter both.

Entering the Sauvignon Summit and/or Zin Challenge is easy.  Here are the entry details:

  • Competition Dates: May 18 and 19, 2016
  • Entry Deadline: May 6, 2016
  • Entry Fee: None
  • Wine Delivery Period: April 25 to May 6, 2016
  • Ship wines to: Sauvignon Summit & Zin Challenge, Alameda County Fair Exhibits Office, 4501 Pleasanton Ave., Pleasanton, CA 94566
