Vins de Provence(New York, NY, July 21, 2015) – The Conseil Interprofessionnel des Vins de Provence (CIVP) has announced election results for the organization’s leadership team, effective June 2015 through 2018.

Alain Baccino Elected CIVP President

Newly elected CIVP President Alain Baccino replaces former President Jean-Jacques Breban, who has completed his three year term. Mr. Baccino will serve from June 2015 through 2018. Based in Côtes de Provence, Mr. Baccino is a wine producer, with his family, at the Domaine des Peirecedes in Pierrefeu. As an agricultural activist for the past 25 years, Mr. Baccino previously held positions at the Côtes de Provence syndicate, the federation of independent wine-growers, the Rosé Research Center, and at the CIVP (Provence Wine Trade Council). From 2013 to the present, he served as president of the Agriculture Chamber of Var.

Looking ahead to his new role as president of the CIVP during the upcoming three-year term, Mr. Baccino defines his goals and priorities for the organization as building cohesion within his team and among all CIVP members, as well as expanding communication to increase awareness of Provence’s white and red wines, and sparkling rosé wine.

Eric Dufavet New CIVP General Director

Succeeding outgoing General Director François Millo is Eric Dufavet, who has been Deputy Director of the CIVP since 2003. He previously served in administrative director positions at such notable companies as Phillips, Ericsson and Dana Distribution. Mr. Dufavet assumes his post at a time when Provence’s wine economy is thriving, and with consumer demand continuing at a rapid pace for dry rosé wine. His past valuable contributions to the CIVP, strong financial and administrative expertise, and comprehensive knowledge of the industry have led to his appointment as the CIVP’s new General Director.
