Keg wines featured in session discussion and trade show tasting
Nov. 1st t, 2014, Healdsburg, CA – The Wine Industry Network (WIN) today announced that this year’s North Coast Wine Industry Expo, held at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds on December 4th, will include a wine tasting that features keg wines on tap. This tasting will serve as an extension of one of the day’s six conference sessions, Non-Traditional Packaging: The Evolution of Wine on Tap.
The tasting will be held at two separate pouring stations, one in the Grace Pavilion and one in the Hall of Flowers. Scheduled toward the end of the day’s event, the tasting will take place between 2 – 3:30 p.m. Expo exhibitors Rehrig Pacific Company and Free Flow Wines, both California companies, will co-host the tasting and will each share one red and one white varietal in kegs with Expo attendees and exhibitors.
“This is a great way to add an interactive element to our education component,” said, George Christie, President of Wine Industry Network. “Although the tasting is open to all Expo attendees, the folks who attend the Non-Traditional Packaging session will be able to sample and enjoy the wines on tap and immediately experience some of what they just heard at the panel discussion.”
The innovative evolution of wine on tap has become an increasingly popular and profitable method of wine packaging and distribution. Michael Cervin, wine industry writer will preside over the session as moderator. Industry experts who will be on the panel discussing this channel of non-traditional packaging will include: Jordan Kivelstadt, Free Flow Wines, Jason Moore, Alluvial Brokers, Greg Kitchens, Don Sebastiani and Sons, and Timothy Felkner, Vigilante Hospitality.
