RootstockNAPA, CA, June 26, 2014 – ROOTSTOCK, a revolutionary conference designed for top quality grapegrowers, vineyard and winery owners, and winemakers worldwide, debuts November 13 at the Napa Expo Fairgrounds.  Presented by the Napa Valley Grapegrowers (NVG), this inaugural one-day summit combines Napa’s past stellar events – the Wine + Grape EXPO and Viticulture Fair – into one powerful annual showcase connecting vineyard practices to wine quality.

Timed just as the 2014 harvest finishes and the industry begins to look towards the future, ROOTSTOCK provides access to high-level, provocative seminars and industry experts, wine trials and tastings, and an exclusive exhibition featuring over 120 of the industry’s highest quality viticulture and enology companies.  A “Concept Bar” will showcase curated, progressive ideas, methods, and equipment designed to further quality and advance industry practices.

“After 24 years of alternating our previous events, we realized that the continued maturation of the global wine industry requires an innovative gathering that reflects growth and the pursuit of quality,” said Michael Silacci, Winemaker at Opus One, NVG board member, and ROOTSTOCK founder. “ROOTSTOCK will do exactly that.”

The event kicks off with an opening night reception on November 12, followed by a full day of speakers and a floor of exhibitors tailored towards the quality producer.  Tickets are $275 general admission, $175 for NVG members and $25 for floor passes.

As a companion to ROOTSTOCK, the NVG will host the signature Leadership and Professional Development session in Spanish the day prior at the event site.  This educational opportunity is offered through the NVG’s acclaimed Farmworker Foundation.
