Cuvée Pietra from the Trentino Alps launches in New York and New Jersey through VIAS Imports
May 12, 2026 (New York, NY) — Marchese Anselmo Guerrieri Gonzaga, proprietor of San Leonardo, the historic Trentino estate of the Guerrieri Gonzaga family, is pleased to announce the U.S. debut of the 2021 Marchesi Guerrieri Gonzaga ‘Cuvée Pietra’ Trentodoc Blanc de Blancs (SRP $52). Imported by VIAS Imports, the US launch marks an important step for the winery as it expands its presence beyond its acclaimed Bordeaux-style reds into the world of Italian Metodo Classico sparkling wine.

Produced under the Marchesi Guerrieri Gonzaga label, the estate’s dedicated sparkling wine label, Cuvée Pietra, represents a new expression of the family’s winemaking expertise, rooted in the mountainous terroir of Trentino. Crafted exclusively from Chardonnay grown in high-altitude vineyards between 1200 and 1800 feet above sea level, the wine reflects the region’s Alpine conditions and volcanic soils.
The 2021 vintage was fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel before undergoing secondary fermentation in the bottle. Aged for 36 months on the lees, the wine shows both complexity and precision, balancing floral aromatics with pronounced acidity and a distinctly fresh, mineral-driven profile.
“Cuvée Pietra is a tribute to the mountains of Trentino and to the unique conditions that shape these wines,” says Anselmo Guerrieri Gonzaga. “With this project, we sought to translate the elegance and identity of our land into a sparkling, enjoyable and consumable expression!”
The vineyards, located north of Trento, in Pressano and the Cembra Valley, benefit from remarkably diverse volcanic soils that include porphyritic, red marls, sandy loams and medium-textured soils. All of which are shaped by glacial morainic deposits from both volcanic formations and the surrounding Dolomites. Hand-harvested at optimal ripeness, the grapes are vinified with precision to preserve freshness and structure, resulting in a wine that is both expressive and refined.
In addition to distribution in New York and New Jersey, Cuvée Pietra is also available online: Click HERE to purchase.
