Four new limited-production wines include the Portola Valley estate’s first cabernet and sparkling wine
October 26, 2026 (Portola Valley, CA) — Neely Family Vineyards, the family-owned, women-led estate winery previously known as Neely Wine, introduces its first Reserve Collection alongside a new name, redesigned labels and packaging, and a new website. The four-wine collection builds on the estate’s heritage chardonnay and pinot noir plantings and introduces its first estate-grown cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc, as well as its first sparkling wine.
“It is the pleasure and privilege of a lifetime to help care for this ridgeline in the northern Santa Cruz Mountains,” said Lucy Neely, Co-owner and Operations Manager at Neely Family Vineyards. “As the second generation, I love witnessing and participating in the continuous evolution of this project. That evolution—including our new name, look, and wines—is towards connection with community and stewardship of place.”
Neely’s vineyards lie within the Santa Cruz Mountains and San Francisco Bay American Viticultural Areas. The estate brings mountain-grown wines to the Bay Area with its estate tasting room in Portola Valley.
The first chardonnay blocks were planted in 1981, followed by Pinot Noir, Gruner Veltliner, Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc. The vineyards climb from the valley floor up the ridgeline, framed by native forest and the San Andreas Fault, with views of the bay and the mountains beyond.
The updated name reflects the family’s dedication to farming, winemaking and hospitality. Redesigned labels and packaging draw on the estate’s natural beauty and architecture.
Launched in September 2026, the redesigned neelywine.com features Nicola Parisi’s photography of the vineyards, winemaking, and team captured over the past year.
Extended aging distinguishes the Reserve Collection from Neely’s Block-Designate and Stainless-Steel tiers, with an additional six months of aging before bottling. Previously, no Neely wine spent more than a year in barrel.
“As our vines age, they are capable of producing increasingly dynamic wines, with ever greater potential for depth and complexity,” said winemaker Sarah Green, who joined Neely in 2024. “Spring Ridge Vineyard has been a beloved site for decades. I felt inspired to see what more we could uncover. We’ve found an entirely new way of exploring and experiencing it.”
Neely’s new Reserve Collection comprises Holly’s Reserve Chardonnay and Lost Road Reserve Pinot Noir, both from Spring Ridge Vineyard, along with Great Heron Block Cabernet Blend and Estate Sparkling. These wines are made in very limited quantities, with about 50 cases each of the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir being released first to Neely Club members this month, and available directly from the winery thereafter. The Sparkling debuts in December, followed by cabernet in February 2027.
For the trade, the estate’s Block-Designate and Stainless-Steel wines are available through California direct wholesale. Trade members are invited to visit the estate to taste the portfolio and walk the vineyards on Spring Ridge. For wholesale inquiries, contact Jason Moore at jason@neelywine.com.
