January 29, 2026 — The international market for sparkling wines continues to grow: according to analysts, the global market volume exceeded US$ 50 billion for the first time as early as 2025. Premium segments and trending categories such as Prosecco, Crémant and non-alcoholic alternatives are seeing double-digit growth in some cases. By introducing Sparkling Visions, ProWein will create a special stage for this dynamic market in March 2026 for the first time – designed as a decentralized journey of discovery through the world of sparkling wines, from Prosecco to Champagne and Cava to international specialties. ProWein will take place from March 15 – 17, 2026 at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany.
New focus of the sparkling wine world: the ProWein Sparkling Bar
In the center of the hub will be the ProWein Sparkling Bar in Hall 4 – a modern meeting point for tastings, brief talks and in-depth insights into trends, regions and markets. At its long counter, experienced sommeliers will serve selected products of various exhibitors in a relaxed bar atmosphere. QR codes in the wine menu will provide trade visitors with detailed information on each sparkling wine, allowing them to make direct contact with its producer, arrange appointments or request further material.
Several times daily, various keynote tastings will provide a concise overview of the diversity of the international sparkling wine market. In just 30 minutes, up to five wines will be tasted and expertly classified. These tastings will cover both well-established varieties such as Champagne, Prosecco, sparkling wine and Crémant as well as new perspectives and market segments. The line-up will include comparative tastings with the Association of Traditional Sparkling Wine Producers, selected producers of top-quality Lambrusco as well as the VDP.Sekt.Prestige category, all hosted by Caro Maurer MW. International styles will be examined using cava producers such as Pere Ventura as an example. Other tastings will address topics such as “Sparkling Wine by the Glass” presented by Patrick Schmitt MW.
Champagne producers will also showcase their products at the bar in conjunction with the Champagne Lounge. In addition, the daily Sparkling Talks will highlight current market developments, consumer trends and opportunities in the sparkling wine segment in 20 minutes – concise, hands-on and with an international focus. A digital Sparkling Map shows all relevant stations of the sparkling wine offerings at ProWein. This allows trade visitors to find producers and products in a targeted fashion and plan their trade fair visit efficiently. The tastings and lectures will be moderated, among others, by the two wine writers and founders of the communication agency A2 Wine & Things, Alexandra Wrann DipWSET and Dr. Anja Zimmer. who have developed the concept for the new Sparkling Bar together with ProWein. Together with ProWein, they developed the concept for the new Sparkling Bar.
“With Sparkling Visions, for the first time now we group all sparkling wine themes at ProWein in such a way that their innovative power becomes visible and experienceable. The Sparkling Bar forms the centerpiece for this – a place that invites attendees to taste, reflect and be courageous. We want to inspire our trade visitors to break new ground and put visions into practice right away. The sparkling wine market currently offers excellent prerequisites to do this,” said Frank Schindler, Director of ProWein Düsseldorf.
