Castle Rock Winery Elevates Commitment to Sustainability and Quality with Award-Winning Mendocino County Pinot Noir

Crafted from 100% Certified Fish Friendly Farming® Grapes from Pauli Ranch

July 2, 2025 (Rolling Hills, CA) — Castle Rock Winery is proud to announce a major sustainability milestone: its Mendocino County Pinot Noir is now produced entirely with 100% Certified Fish Friendly Farming® grapes, sourced exclusively from the esteemed Pauli Ranch vineyard. This achievement underscores Castle Rock’s long-standing dedication to environmentally responsible winemaking.

For over two decades, Castle Rock has partnered with Pauli Ranch, relying on its exceptional fruit and forward-thinking farming practices to craft wines that consistently over-deliver in both quality and value. The Fish Friendly Farming® certification recognizes agricultural operations that prioritize clean water, protect fish habitats, and promote long-term soil and ecosystem health—values deeply aligned with Castle Rock’s approach to viticulture.

The 2023 vintage of Castle Rock’s Mendocino County Pinot Noir has garnered widespread acclaim, earning a 92-point score and “Best Buy” recognition from Wine Enthusiast, and securing a spot among the magazine’s “Best of the Year” wines for 2024.

“Our relationship with Pauli Ranch spans more than 20 years, and their dedication to sustainability and excellence is a cornerstone of our Mendocino Pinot,” said Greg Popovich, Founder and President of Castle Rock Winery. “This Fish Friendly Farming certification simply formalizes what we’ve always known—that Pauli Ranch is a leader in responsible agriculture, and their grapes help us create wines that are both flavorful and environmentally conscious.”

The newly released 2023 vintage is a standout, offering bright red berry flavorssubtle spice, and a silky-smooth texture—a reflection of both its coastal Mendocino terroir and the care with which it’s grown.

With top-tier sustainability credentials and high critical praise, Castle Rock’s Mendocino County Pinot Noir sets a new benchmark for value in premium California wine.
