Gradisca d’Isonzo (Gorizia) April 2024 – It’s a partnership in the pursuit of Friulian continuity for Felluga, signed with the Tommasi Family, producers of Amarone della Valpolicella across four generations and currently present in 8 Italian regions.
“I will continue to lead the companies, with our collaborators, proudly maintaining the role of representation and leadership – says Ilaria Felluga,- while the Tommasi Family will support me in investments for growth and development. The fundamental cornerstones will always be those on which my grandfather Marco and my father Roberto decided to base their work and their approach to the world of wine, including attention to sustainability issues and the adoption of innovative processes, supported by scientific research.”
“The heart of this alliance lies in the common desire to preserve and enhance the winemaking heritage of Collio – continues Pierangelo Tommasi, General Director of Tommasi Family Estates – whilst adhering to the principles of excellence that have always characterized both Felluga and Tommasi, with the aim of producing wines of the highest quality and with reduced environmental impact, respecting the territory, its history, and its traditions”
The agreement is the result of months of dialogue and negotiations, culminating in the entry of the Tommasi Family into Russiz Superiore and their joint commitment to Marco Felluga’s company. Both parties have agreed on the active participation of the Tommasi Family, although the Marco Felluga and Russiz Superiore brands will maintain operational and commercial autonomy from the Veneto-based company.
Russiz Superiore, located in Capriva del Friuli, is considered Marco Felluga’s Cru, synonymous with history and excellence; the estate, spread over 100 hectares with 50 hectares cultivated as vineyards, represents an invaluable asset in the heart of Collio. Marco Felluga, active for 6 generations, produces high-quality white wines, obtained from native grape varieties. Passion, experience, and foresight: these are the words that best embody the relationship between Ilaria’s family and the world of wine.
For Tommasi Family Estates, this partnership is part of a long-term vision and strategy, that represents a significant milestone in the growth of the family business, which for over a century has brought the excellence of Valpolicella wines worldwide. Collaboration with Friulian companies further expands Tommasi’s wine heritage, reaching directly or through partnerships approximately 900 hectares of vineyards.
This alliance also expresses optimism not only for the future prospects of the companies and both families involved but also for the Italian wine industry, one of the drivers of the national economy, and for all those who daily strive for the success of the entire production chain.
