Shanti Winery Opens in Livermore Valley, Blending Hospitality-Driven Experience with Estate Growth

New winery and event center brings wellness-inspired approach and multi-AVA sourcing strategy to Tri-Valley

April 29, 2026 (Livermore, CA)Shanti Winery & Event Center, a women- and minority-owned winery founded by Ray and Dimple Sharma, has officially opened in Livermore Valley, introducing a hospitality-driven winery experience rooted in the principles of peace, connection, and intentional living.

Located on the historic Home Ranch property, the eight-acre estate includes more than 5.5 acres planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, and Barbera, positioning Shanti for future estate-grown production in one of California’s fastest-evolving wine regions.

“We created Shanti as a place where people can slow down and reconnect with each other and with the experience of wine,” said co-founder Ray Sharma. “For us, it’s not just about what’s in the glass, but how people feel when they’re here.”

The Sharmas’ journey into wine began in the San Francisco Bay Area, where visits to small, family-owned wineries in Napa and Sonoma sparked a deeper passion that evolved alongside their family life. A pivotal tasting experience along Napa’s Silverado Trail inspired the name “Shanti,” a Sanskrit word meaning “peace” or “inner peace,” which now underpins the winery’s philosophy and guest experience.

Shanti first released wines in 2012 in Napa, where the founders opened their first tasting room. As demand grew, the couple sought to put down roots closer to home in the Tri-Valley, leading to the acquisition of the Livermore property in 2024 and its subsequent development into a winery and event destination.

Each founder brings a complementary perspective to the business. Ray contributes a background in business and operations, while Dimple’s academic training in biology and chemistry informs a precise, balanced approach to winemaking. Together, the couple also developed Shanti’s brand identity, including a logo featuring a meditating figure that reflects the winery’s core philosophy.

Today, Shanti produces wines sourced from a combination of estate fruit and select vineyard sites across Livermore, Napa, and Sonoma — an approach that allows for both regional diversity and long-term estate development. The winery plans to introduce estate-grown Livermore wines in the coming months.

In addition to its wine portfolio, Shanti Winery & Event Center is designed as a flexible gathering space, hosting tastings, private events, and community programming. A direct-to-consumer wine club offers customizable quarterly shipments, preferred pricing, and access to exclusive experiences.

With its dual focus on experiential hospitality and vineyard investment, Shanti reflects a broader shift in the wine industry toward destination-driven wineries that prioritize connection as much as production.
