A strong start to 2024 for Willamette Valley winemaker with coast-to-coast premium wine events, including Chardonnay Celebration, World of Pinot Noir and Boston Wine Expo

February 9, 2024, Dundee, OR … While the patiently cellared wines of Nysa Vineyard are still some of the Willamette Valley’s greatest secrets, their lineup will soon be revealed with curated holiday specials and a coast-to-coast calendar full of wine events where Nysa’s wines will be poured among the world’s best.

Sitting from 600-720 feet in the Dundee Hills of the Willamette Valley the vineyard enjoys all cardinal aspects with the eastern slope predominant. Nysa was founded by Michael Mega in 1990, when Oregon was home to 330 vineyards compared to today’s 1,411. With 42 acres, currently 20 under vine, Nysa subscribed to what Mega refers to as “patient cellaring,” to allow these concentrated pinots to fully bloom and express the nuances of each vintage, with 2017 released now in 2024.

Nysa’s spring kicks off with a Valentines gift collection that makes gifting easy including wines paired with Chocolate Covered Oregon Sea Salt Caramels made locally by Vadnay Chocolate. Then Nysa will be pouring at the Chardonnay Celebration at Newberg’s Allison Inn and Spa held February 24, 2024. Then Nysa is on to the World of Pinot noir in Santa Barbara, CA in late February/early March 2024. March 2-3, Nysa heads to the Boston Wine Expo where many on the East coast will have their first taste of Nysa wines.

“I always hoped this day would come for Nysa and 2024 has offered us some wonderful surprises so far,” said Mega. “To be selected to represent Oregon in such highly regarded events has been a dream of ours for a long time.”

Nysa is in good company, too. Vineyard designated Nysa grapes have been used by some of the Willamette Valley’s rock stars: Ken Wright, Harry Peterson Nedry of Chehalem, Kelley Fox, Josh Bergstrom, 00 Wines when under Mike Etzel Jr., Lavinea, Torii Mor, and White Rose, to name a few. Today, Willful Wines, Audeant, and Domain Nicholas Jay.

Nysa wines are available at the tasting room on site, or on Nysa’s website, but these events mark a great opportunity from Oregon to Central coast California to Massachusetts to enjoy Nysa’s unique varieties in person including Blanc de noir, Rosé, Chardonnay and Pinot noir.

About Nysa Vineyard

Planted from 1990 through 2006 on  volcanic Jory soil, with basalt bedrock 8 to 12 feet below the surface, the 20 acres of densely spaced dry farmed vines yield highly concentrated fruit. Given this optimum site our vinicultural goals are to limit crop load, control disease, and allow physiologic maturity to manifest in tandem with optimum sugar and acid levels. More about Nysa’s thoughtfully crafted winemaking is here: Nysa Vineyard. Thanks and kind regards,
