New York City—August 30, 2023—Today, the Business Intelligence Group named Alice Tétienne, Sustainability Champion in the 2023 Sustainability Awards program. The Sustainability Awards honor those people, teams and organizations who have made sustainability an integral part of their business practice or overall mission.

Alice Tétienne

Since joining in 2020, Alice has focused on the preservation of vineyards and the terroirs, developing more precise viticulture and creating a collective working together in favor of the Champagne terroirs, at the service of wine and oenological excellence. “The Alliance Terroirs project centers around three crucial pillars: knowledge of the terroirs; adaptation of viticultural practices as a result of this knowledge and taking actions that contribute to the sustainability of the Champagne region,” says Alice.

“But this is not enough!”. In the last 12 months, Alice has been examining all business operations to identify strategies for reducing its overall carbon footprint – including electricity usage, water conservation, recycling, and the highly sensitive topic of packaging- and reviewing their suppliers to work with local ones.

“The mission entrusted to me is to perpetuate the soul of Maison Henriot through its Champagnes and their signature,” says Alice Tétienne “Today, the world is on the move, both socially and environmentally. It is my duty to integrate this dimension while respecting the primary objective. We proactively reassess our practices and methodology to effectively respond to the rapidly changing climate, warming planet, and weather extremes.”

“We are proud to reward and recognize Alice Tétienne for their sustainability efforts,” said Maria Jimenez, Chief Nominations Officer, Business Intelligence Group. “It was clear to our judges that their vision and strategy will continue to deliver results toward a cleaner, more sustainable world. Congratulations!”
