Healdsburg, CA, May 5, 2022– In celebration of Chalk Hill Estate Vineyards and Winery’s 50th Anniversary, Foley Family Wines is proud to sponsor the 2022 Healdsburg Wine & Food Experience (May 20-22) with a $25,000 donation for the Healdsburg Future Farmers of America (FFA) Scholarship Fund.
Chalk Hill and Foley Family Wines will honor the FFA at the Healdsburg Wine & Food Experience barbecue event featuring Chef Matt Horn, a 2021 Food & Wine Magazine Best New Chef and owner of Oakland’s renowned Horn Barbecue. Horn will smoke a whole hog at a live-fire barbeque lunch in Healdsburg on Friday, May 20th.
The new scholarship fund will provide local high school students with training and leadership skills in the business of agriculture, with the goal of supporting long-term agriculture in Sonoma County.
Representing the hog will be a student member of the Healdsburg chapter of the National FFA Organization, who raised the animal, and will speak at the barbecue on farm to table agriculture and the importance of where our food comes from.
