The Curated List from Gambero Rosso is the Most Authoritative Annual Guide to the Very Best Italian Wines with More than 2,400 Producers Selected for the 2020 Edition

Los Angeles, Calif. (December 5, 2019) – Italian-based media company Gambero Rosso has announced that Vini D’Italia, its yearly guide considered by oenophiles to be the “bible” of the best and most relevant Italian wines, will be released this February.  The guide, produced in English for U.S. and Canadian enthusiasts, is available for pre-order at amazon.com and will be sold during Gambero Rosso’s 2020 invitation-only U.S. Tour kicking off  February 24 in Miami.

For more than three decades Vini D’Italia has been one of the most authoritative guides to Italian wines.  This year’s edition features a curated list of 2,400 producers selected by more than 60 tasters who traveled throughout the country tasting some 45,000 wines collectively.  Only half of those sampled made the final cut.

The guide gives readers essential information about each winery, including their most important labels as well as what the wines retail for at enotecas throughout Italy. Wines are evaluated using Gambero Rosso’s bicchieri rating–or glass ranking–with the Tre Bicchieri (three glasses) rating reserved for just the top one percent of wines from that vintage.

While the size of the guide has remained nearly unchanged since it was first introduced in 1987, the criteria for inclusion has become more rigorous.  In addition, Gambero Rosso also recognizes the vintner’s impact on the environment with more estates transitioning to organic and dry farming with a focus on sustainability.

Amazon.com is taking pre-orders now for Gambero Rosso’s 33rd edition of its annual Vini D’Italia guide, which retails for $35.  Those attending Gambero Rosso’s 2020 U.S. trade tour, which kicks-off February 26 in Miami, can also purchase a copy at a discounted rate of $20 at the event.  Other stops on the 2020 U.S. Tour include Chicago on February 26, New York City on February 28, Los Angeles on March 2, San Diego on March 4 and concluding in San Francisco on March 5.
