Columbus Pledges 2% of Proceeds to Support Domestic Violence Outreach


Amityville, New York – Importer Columbus Wine and Spirits has pledged 2% of all proceeds from the sale of Bodegas Mocen wines to distributors nationwide in the month of September to support The Retreat, a safe haven for families in crisis on the East End of Long Island. Additionally, Columbus will support Joy Behar’s Friends with Benefits: A Comedy Fundraiser for The Retreat being held on Sunday, September 3rd at Guild Hall in East Hampton, New York with an event donation of Bodegas Mocen Verdejo Selección Especial.

“Giving back is a part of who we are as a company. We encourage all of our employees to volunteer and be active members of their local communities and are happy to support this worthy cause,” says Larry Reiter, Founder of Columbus Wine and Spirits.

Since 1987, The Retreat has been providing domestic violence and sexual assault services and education to families, friends and neighbors on the East End of Long Island. Professionals and trained volunteers give clients the opportunity to safely heal and reestablish their lives, free from violence.
