YAO NOI, Thailand – June 18, 2015 – Following the exceptional popularity of the Six Senses Thai wines Chenin Blanc 2012 and Syrah Rosé 2013, Six Senses Yao Noi will launch its third wine this August: the Six Senses Yao Noi Syrah Red.
The wines are a result of a collaboration between Six Senses Yao Noi and Thailand’s most dynamic and youngest winemaker, Nikki Lohitnavy of GranMonte Estate. The partnership on each occasion resulted in engaging and easy-drinking wines that express a delightful freshness, especially suited to warmer climates. The inspiration behind this came from resort General Manager Manish Puri, a passionate wine lover, who worked closely with Lohitnavy in order to capture the unique essence of place and offer wines that match the local Thai cuisine and blend seamlessly with the natural lifestyle of Six Senses Yao Noi.
The Syrah Red is crafted from estate grown fruit in the Asoke Valley and aged in French oak barrels for eight months. This wine show blackberries and blackcurrant fruit characteristics with a hint of pepper spice and a very round and soft structure ideal for sharing over casual food, lightly grilled meat and mild lamb curries.
Label design can say a thousand words and these new labels adorning these bottles do just that. The story of boy meets girl; the story of a journey of two passionate people spreading the merits of the local wine culture with a sense of fun and quirkiness.
The resort offers a unique and personal experience to guests, so that they reconnect with themselves, their partners and their surroundings. This local and sustainably produced Syrah Red wine will remind guests of the extraordinary experiences they enjoyed while at the property. In the same way, the wine expresses the personality of the resort and the people behind it. Wine with this label is offered exclusively at Six Senses Yao Noi.
“When a great idea meets the perfect time, location and craft, an exquisite taste is born; a taste that tells a tale. All these Six Senses Thai wines tell a tale of sunny bliss, just like many experiences we offer to our guests on this beautiful island,” said Puri.
Nikki’s Gran Monte wines have not only been popular with Six Senses resort guests, but also on the 2014 Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine and Spirit Competition where they were awarded a Gold medal and Trophy for its Syrah Rosé 2014 and for the Chenin Blanc 2014.
