Stags Leap District Cabernet Collaboration Celebrates the Power of Winemaking Together

An evolving team of winemakers comes together each vintage to create one Cabernet Sauvignon representing the collective spirit of the iconic Napa Valley appellation

October 15, 2026 (Stags Leap District – Napa, CA) — In an industry defined by individual wineries, winemakers and distinct house styles, the Stags Leap District Winegrowers are taking a different approach by coming together to create one exceptional wine that exemplifies the region. At the heart of the yearly project is a sense of collaboration, not competition.

The 2024 Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon: A Collaboration, the fourth vintage of a rare Cabernet Sauvignon created collectively by neighboring wineries throughout the appellation, is being released this fall. Each participating winery contributes one of its distinguished Cabernet Sauvignon lots, which are then brought together by a team of Stags Leap District winemakers to create a wine intended to speak for the appellation.

Each vintage, the winemaking team evolves, bringing together different perspectives, backgrounds and approaches from across the Stags Leap District. The changing team is intentional, giving more of the appellation’s winemakers an opportunity to participate in shaping the final blend while reinforcing the spirit of inclusion and cooperation behind the project. Rather than seeking to showcase any single winery’s style, the goal is to create a Cabernet Sauvignon that reflects the character of the appellation and its celebrated balance of power and elegance.

“While our wineries each have their own history, vineyards, winemaking philosophy and point of view, we share a deep connection to this place,” said Nancy Bialek, Executive Director of the Stags Leap District Winegrowers Association. “The Collaboration gives us an opportunity to put individual identities aside and create something together. With different winemakers participating each year, the wine captures a moment in time and celebrates the sense of unity and camaraderie of the Stags Leap District.”

The limited-production wine also serves as a snapshot of the Stags Leap District at a particular moment in time. With a new vintage, a changing group of winemakers and Cabernet Sauvignon contributed from across the appellation, each release offers a different interpretation of the same place—and a reminder that some of the region’s most compelling work can happen when its wineries work together. The 2024 Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon: A Collaboration is offered exclusively through the Stags Leap District Winegrowers website on a first-come, first-served basis. Priced at $275 per bottle, the wine is available for purchase in three- and six-bottle sets only.
